An issue relating to the Variscan mining controversy in Brittany (and parts of France) was down for discussion at this year’s Celtic League AGM held on the Isle of Man.

The Celtic League had added its voice to the protests against the plans by Variscan whose plant and also HQ have been the subject of attacks in Brittany and France.

An AGM resolution on the issue was tabled prior to the decision of the Macron government to suspend the licences.

However, with amendment this resolution was still adopted as there is a possibility given the value of these minerals that there could be a change of heart by this or future French governments.
