CELTIC FRIENDS! WHERE ARE THEY WHEN YOU NEED THEM?’The true measure of friendship is to help fellow Celts when they face difficulties.’
The Isle of Man is proud of its links with Breizh built up over many years and strengthened particularly via the regular involvement in the Lorient Festival over many decades. Indeed in 2019 the Chief Minister Howard Quayle MHK was effusive about the links and opportunities the links to the culture of Breizh brought.
Rather sad therefore that government, politicians and indeed others have not expressed their concerns about the latest plans unveiled to restrict Breton language education. Some in other Celtic countries have spoken out.
More demonstrations are planned in Breizh next week by language and teachers groups.
The true measure of friendship is to help fellow Celts when they face difficulties. Let’s hope the Manx are not found wanting in that respect!
