MET OFFICE CELTIC LANGUAGE OPTIONS TO BE MADE MORE ACCESSIBLE
The UK Meteorological Office (Met Office) has responded to concerns raised by the Celtic League about lack of clarity over where the Welsh and Gaelic language forecasts are available on their `Invent’ weather forecast site.
The site was made available earlier this year in the Welsh and Gaelic languages, which the Celtic League congratulated the Met Office on. However the League pointed out that even though they appreciated the gesture from the Met Office in doing this, it was not obvious from a simple navigation of the site where
visitor could also view the site in the other languages.
In an email to the general secretary (GS) of the League a Met Office representative said that during 2011 when the site is being updated the language option will be made “more readily accessible and obvious” to users as a result of the feedback received.
