NATIONALISTS UNIMPRESSED BY IMPORTED GOVERNOR
As a new Lt. Governor arrives on the Isle of Man Manx Nationalists have criticised the appointment.
Both Mec Vannin (the Manx Nationalist Party) and the Celtic League are opposed to the concept of a `Governor’ and Mec Vannin have called the office an anachronistic vestige of colonialism.
The Celtic League DOI has said that if the Isle of Man must have a Lt. Governor because of the current constitutional arrangement a Manx person should be appointed to the position (see link):
